The question
How can particle-scale simulation help us understand extrusion with recirculation for the dry manufacturing of lithium-ion battery electrodes?
Method and workflow
The study uses the discrete element method to model an extrusion process with recirculation. It connects a manufacturing question with the behavior of interacting particles in a computational representation of the process.
The workflow above is a conceptual overview. Actual geometry, simulation images, and particle-motion videos will be added to this project as they become available for the portfolio.
Research output
The study was published in Batteries & Supercaps in 2026 and also has an associated cover feature. The paper provides the scientific methods and results; links are available alongside this project.
Results and insights
A visual account of the results, including selected figures and interpretation, is being prepared for this page. Quantitative findings will be presented with their source and context.
My contribution
A specific contribution statement will be added alongside the project figures.
Scope and limitations
This page currently summarizes the study topic and publication record. Model assumptions, calibration details, and limits of interpretation should be read in the paper until the detailed project account is added.
